NYCC 2018: Skyscraper: The Impossible Leap VR Experience
  |  @   |

Day 4 of New York Comic-Con started in a way I could not have imagined: with me leaping off a crane hundreds of floors up above a raging inferno below. Or at least that’s what it seemed like during the Skyscraper: The Impossible Leap experience. Located in the 100s row of the NYCC show floor, Skyscraper‘s VR experience allowed fans to mimic Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s epic leap from a crane to an open window of the burning tower The Pearl from the film Skyscraper, which opened early this year on July 13th. The VR experience was available at certain theaters across the country and was exactly what VR should be.

Interview: ‘Skyscraper’ and ‘Marco Polo’ Actor Chin Han
  |  @   |

Skyscraper debuted in theaters in July of this year and has already banked close to $300 million worldwide. The film stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Will Sawyer, a disabled veteran and security expert called in to assess the newest and largest skyscraper in the world, The Pearl in Hong Kong. Chin Han plays Zhao Long Ji, the creator of the titular edifice who becomes an unlikely ally to Sawyer when the building is besieged by terrorists and set ablaze.

Han first became known to American audiences as Lau, the corrupt businessman who runs afoul of both Batman and The Joker in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight (2008). He has appeared in many popular films such as Ghost in the Shell and TV series such as Netflix’s Marco Polo, and The CW’s Arrow. With Skyscraper coming out on Blu-ray Combo Pack next week, I got the chance to speak with Chin Han about the film, his training, career, and more.

Check out our full interview with Chin Han here below.

Science and physics do not apply for a blockbuster film. So don’t expect to see any of that in Skyscraper. The film starring Dwayne Johnson seems to defy all logic and sound science, and somehow still manages to be a modestly entertaining film, even with its thin story and cheesy goodness.

So after facing off against some unlikely antagonists, which have taken many different forms throughout the course of his career – from giant beasts, terrorist organizations, even earthquakes – Johnson is up against one of his tallest adversaries to date, a giant burning building filled with terrorists holding his family hostage. Check out our review of Skyscraper below.
