  |  @   |

The third season of HBO’s hit vampire series True Blood has just recently gotten started, but the numbers are impressive enough for those who make the decisions. It has been decided that a fourth season of the show is a worthy investment, and the green light has been given.

Speaking about the announcement, HBO president of programming Michael Lombardo said “The new season of True Blood is off to a terrific start, as enthusiasm for this unique show continues to build among both subscribers and critics. We’re looking forward to more chills from Alan Ball and his gifted team next year.” Series creator, executive producer, and sometimes writer/director Alan Ball also added “I am beyond thrilled to be able to continue working with this amazing cast and crew. Snoop Dogg Really Likes HBO’s ‘True Blood’
  |

Iconic rapper Snoop Dogg really likes vampire drama True Blood, or at the very least, one of the show’s main characters Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin).

Evidence of Snoop’s True Blood-fanboyism can overwhelmingly be found in the music video “Oh Sookie” he produced and subsequently uploaded to YouTube to promote the show for HBO.

It is everything you’d think it would be, and probably even a little bit more.

Check out the video embedded below and then share your Vampire-Hip-Hop puns in the comment section please.

The video begins with Snoop pulling up to Merlotte’s in a tricked-out Cadillac with a personalized California license plate that reads “TRU PIMP.” He comes bearing gifts like “Tru Nutz” and proceeds to rap amongst a montage of True Blood clips and shots of Sookie look-a-like dancers.

The first season of HBO’s True Blood was something of a surprise hit. The crazy new b-movie-like series took some getting used to at first, but once you were engaged, there was no going back. With franchises like The Twilight Saga making loads of money off dumbed-down, sparkle-happy, family-friendly vampires, the ultra-violent and relentlessly graphic vampire drama unfolding in the southern town of Bon Temps was a bloody fresh new title to embrace.

The one thing about True Blood, however, that was hinted at in the first season and was completely unleashed in this second season, was that this is NOT just a show about vampires…not even close.
