The penultimate issue of Brian Wood‘s Star Wars puts the chief characters into position for their finale. Continuing directly from the previous issue, Wood and the artistic creative team maintain their high standard in focusing on the heroes and villains of Star Wars not long after the events of A New Hope, and this time, we also get to see a cameo of Boba Fett!
On a mission leading a group of her stealth Grey Squadron, Leia and her team are detected by an Imperial fleet, including an Interdictor Star Destroyer preventing them from leaving the system via lightspeed. As they are overwhelmed by TIE Fighters, the group fights against the odds. But in these precarious maneuvers, their actions could end up resulting in disastrous consequences for them and the Rebellion.
The last several months have been up and down with movie rumors for the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII to be directed by J.J. Abrams. Among the most popular and seemingly solid rumors, is that several key cast members from the Original Trilogy will be reappearing in some scope. These, of course, are Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia, and Harrison Ford as Han Solo. But what about everyone’s favorite gambling scoundrel, Lando Calrissian, as played by Billy Dee Williams?
According to a Facebook message, Billy Dee Williams states that he has not up till now been contacted by anyone. In the recent flurry of rumors, it was said that George Lucas had met with Hamill, Fisher, Ford, and Ian McDiarmid (Emperor Palpatine) over several lunch meetings in 2012 to chew over the Sequel Trilogy. Williams, it seems, was not a part of these meetings, which would indicate that there may be no plans to have Lando even make a cameo in the upcoming trilogy.
In response, Billy Dee Williams has called upon his fans to tell Disney and Lucasfilm if they would like to see Lando return. Here’s the full message:
Greedo. Son of Greedo the Elder. Bounty Hunter. And high heel connoisseur.
He may now be a pile of slushy guts on the floor of the Mos Eisley Cantina, but before Han shot first, Greedo was a respected bounty hunter that just *LOVED* to go shopping for shoes in his spare time. *Finger Snap* You go, girl.
Yes, today’s WTF Geek Pic of the Day (pictured right – click to enlarge) is making its way around the web at the moment via websites like imgur and Reddit, and it’s all about Greedo wearing high heels.
I think I’m more concerned about how much George Lucas in this photo looks like he thinks this is somewhat normal. Personally, I’m wondering whether there’s a Greedo in Stilettos image floating around. Or maybe Greedo in KISS platform boots. Wait, that one would actually rock.
