Lucasfilm President On The Future Of ‘Star Wars’ Saga and Spinoffs
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will pave the way for future Star Wars spinoffs. These films will focus on the untold stories that are considered legend within the universe. While there is excitement to see more Star Wars, there is also a little bit of anxiety as it is unclear what the future may hold for these spinoffs and what will happen beyond Episode IX.
From what we know so far, Gareth Edwards‘ Rogue One will center on a group of rebels’ daring mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, while Christopher Miller and Phil Lord will direct a young Han Solo spinoff. As for the saga films, Rian Johnson is currently hard at work with the yet-to-be-titled Episode VIII, while Colin Trevorrow will be gearing up for Episode IX. After that, well, your guess is as good as ours.

‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ May Introduce New Stormtroopers
Star Wars: The Force Awakens made some key changes to the dark faction we once knew as The Empire. Now known as the First Order, the group also added a few changes to the stormtroopers’ armor and weaponry and even gave a few high ranking ones a shiny chrome look.
Now it looks like we will be seeing more variations of the stormtrooper in the yet-to-be-titled Star Wars: Episode VIII. According to new rumors, a new never before seen stormtrooper will appear in the movie, but will still retain some similarities. Check out the full details on this rumor below.

Adam Driver Says The Stakes Are Higher In ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’
Production has already been completed for Star Wars: Episode VIII directed by Rian Johnson for quite some time, and even though the film probably won’t follow the same mystery box marketing method that we saw in The Force Awakens, it’s safe to say that Disney and Lucasfilm won’t reveal any plot details anytime soon. But we have learned that the film takes place just moments after The Force Awakens ended and that Lupita Nyong’o revealed that she hasn’t shot any of her scenes yet – despite Johnson sharing a photo of Maz Kanata during rehearsals.
Now we are learning a little bit more about the film’s tone from Adam Driver, who says the dark tone is different from the dark tone that we saw in The Empire Strikes Back and that the stakes are also higher for all the characters. Check out what he had to say below.

Lupita Nyong’o Has Yet To Shoot Her Scenes For ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’
There were many new and exciting characters that were introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and while many of them we still have yet to figure out, the one that is perhaps the most mysterious is Maz Kanata. Played by Lupita Nyong’o,, Maz is no ordinary 1,000-year-old barkeep; she is a wise alien who seems to have a strong connection to the mystical side of the galaxy.
Certainly, the lack of knowing the character’s history within the Star Wars universe would be enough to have her come back for Star Wars: Episode VIII, and there has been some indication that she would, in fact, be making a return. However, Nyong’o is now saying that she hasn’t even shot her scenes yet. More on the story below.

Star Wars Celebration: Rian Johnson Talks ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’
The Future Filmmakers panel at Star Wars Celebration in London this weekend not only included an appearance from directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who talked about the yet-to-be-titled Han Solo standalone film, but also Rian Johnson, who discussed the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VIII.
The latest Star Wars saga film, which has yet to receive an official title, recently wrapped shooting and will probably have some reshoots done in time for the release next year. But as Johnson gets ready to enter post-production, the director spoke a little bit about what we can expect to see from Episode VIII, including where and when it takes place, the tone, and much more. Check out here below what he and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy had to say.
