‘Mortal Engines’ Trailer: ‘Mad Max’ Meets ‘Snowpiercer’ With A Touch Of YA

YA novels sure do love their futuristic dystopia settings. And while many have been turned into a film adaptation, few have ever made it to the very end. But there are some of those that could actually work, and Universal is putting its money on Mortal Engines being the next mega-hit, based on a YA novel, to work. Produced by Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies), the film is based on the 2001 novels written by Philip Reeve.

And now we have our first look at it, in a new teaser trailer which has a few nods to some more mature dystopian films. Check it out here below.

‘Titanic’ Star Kate Winslet Reunites With James Cameron For ‘Avatar’ Sequels

A big name has signed on for director James Cameron‘s long-in-development Avatar sequels. Kate Winslet, who starred in Cameron’s 1997 box office juggernaut Titanic, is set to reunite with the director for the new Avatar titles.

Cameron said in a statement that he and Winslet had been looking for something else to work on together, and that she’ll be playing a character named Ronal. You can read his full quote below.

Trailer For Christian Bale Western ‘Hostiles’ Released

A teaser trailer has made its way online for Hostiles, a western drama from Crazy Heart, Out of the Furnace, and Black Mass director Scott Cooper starring Christian Bale.

The movie made waves with screenings at the Telluride Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival, and it has been compared to the 1956 John Wayne classic The Searchers directed by John Ford.

‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Star Cliff Curtis Joins James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ Sequels

There’s a bunch of Avatar sequels on the way. Eventually. We’ve been hearing about a sequel to Aliens and Terminator 2: Judgment Day director James Cameron‘s record-smasher for years, but the second movie has been delayed multiple times.

Creeping up on a decade since the original was released, the sequels are starting to take shape once again. Last month, release dates for the four sequels were set again, with the first now scheduled for release in 2020—11 years after the original was released. And now a new actor has joined the cast. Fear the Walking Dead star Cliff Curtis has signed on for one of the lead roles in the sequels.

‘Into The Badlands’ Season 2: New Teasers “The Widow’s Revenge” and “Sunny Is Ready For A Fight”

AMC has released a pair of new teaser trailers for Into the Badlands season two, titled “The Widow’s Revenge” and ‘Sunny is Ready for a Fight.”

Each of the two teasers play similarly with the two title characters, the Widow and Sunny, training while quick shots from the new season rapidly flash away on your screen. They’re both effective teases, showing off lots of intriguing imagery but far too fast to know for sure what you’re seeing. Many eager fans will no doubt be wearing out their pause buttons as they try to get a better look.
