While the most recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film wasn’t well received by film critics, it was still a big hit with audiences, and a lot closer to the ’80s cartoon then the first trilogy. the sequel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, will introduce the hockey mask wearing vigilante Casey Jones (Stephen Amell), the nefarious scientist Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) and the Shredder’s (Brian Tee) dim-witted mutant henchman Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (WWE’s Sheamus).
But the new characters don’t stop there. Producer Michael Bay has one more character to confirm for the sequel, and it is most definitely a fan-favorite. According to the producer, Krang, the living brain who hails from Dimension X will make an appearance. More on the story below.
Everyone’s favorite vigilante, Stephen Amell, has been busy filming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 in New York City these days, as the character Casey Jones, possible love interest to Megan Fox‘s April O’Neill. Producer Michael Bay tweeted a photo of Amell in Jones regalia, which includes a hockey mask and hockey stick.

Tyler Perry is the latest addition made to the cast of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. A new report says that the actor has signed on to play Baxter Stockman, a nefarious scientist who often works for Shredder and his dreaded Foot Clan.
Perry joins Megan Fox and Will Arnett, who will reprise their respective roles in the sequel, and Arrow star Stephen Amell, who was recently cast as masked vigilante Casey Jones. Other actors reprising their roles in the first movie have not been confirmed. Hit the jump for more.
Stephen Amell, title star of The CW’s Arrow, has been cast as Casey Jones in the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 movie. Amell screen tested against a handful of other contenders, but was chosen because of the chemistry with Megan Fox, who will reprise her April O’Neill role. Will Arnett is also set to return.
This will be the first major film role for Amell, whose acting credits are mainly in television series and movies.
Say what you want about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but the film grossed $477 million worldwide and currently holds the number 12 spot on the top grossing films of 2014.
Of course with numbers like that, you knew Paramount was going to follow that up with a sequel. While it was first thought that Jonathan Liebesman, who directed the last film, would return to direct Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, it’s being reported that the studio is now in talks with Earth To Echo helmer David Green to direct the sequel.
