‘Fast & Furious’ Director Justin Lin Hopes To Bring Sarah Connor Back In ‘Terminator 5’
  |  @   |

Just recently it was reported that Justin Lin had signed a two–year deal with Universal Pictures that would see him working on numerous different films, including Fast and the Furious 6, the follow–up to Fast Five, which Lin directed in addition to The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and Fast & Furious.

But one of the multiple other projects that Lin is attached to direct is Terminator 5, which is still being developed and does not have a major studio backing it yet. Even so, Lin had a chat with MovieHole recently, and discussed the future of the Terminator franchise, including bringing back Sarah Connor somehow.

Proposed McG ‘20,000 Leagues Under The Sea’ Movie Killed Off
  |  @   |

Not much was known of the new Captain Nemo: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea movie that was well on its way to us, but one might imagine that Disney had plans of bringing another massive water-filled adventure much like their Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. They had gotten so far as to hire Terminator Salvation director McG to helm the flick, and names like Will Smith were rumored for the role of Captain Nemo. None of this matters anymore now, as Disney has slammed the brakes on with force and stopped all forward progress on the project.

The movie was set to tell an origins tale of the fabled Captain Nemo and the building of his ship, the Nautilus. It was actually on the fast track at one point, but it appears that the controversial firing of popular chairman Dick Cook may have knocked it off its course for the time being. The original 1954 film starred Kirk Douglas and it was Disney’s very first live-action film production.

McG Is Back At It; Talks ‘Terminator Salvation’ & ‘Terminator 5’
  |  @   |

Around the time that Terminator Salvation was making its massive final push toward what ended up being a bit of a let down at the domestic box office, director McG and his movie were in the news what seemed like every single day. Whether it was a new image, a quote, or any other variety of things, it was all over the ‘net.

While out helping to promote the new TV show Human Target, McG got back to it, starting with what went wrong with Salvation, as well as some details on what could become Terminator 5.

McG Talks ‘Terminator Salvation’ Sequel & Fighting James Cameron
  |  @   |

Terminator Salvation and many fans (including myself) aren’t exactly on speaking terms right now. After the embarrassment of a PG-13 rating rained down — throwing the integrity of the entire franchise in front of the sacrificial blade of the financial profit gods — you just can’t help but feel like your girlfriend is cheating on you in front of your face while pointing and laughing for good measure.

Heartbreak aside, Film Journal International had a long chat with director McG, where they spoke about many things. Most of the conversation consisted of stories and information that have been told and re-told over the months, but some of the chat included some incredibly interesting information, including what McG is expecting the next chapter, Terminator 5, will hold. Let’s just say…some of us may not be dancing after reading it.

McG again mentions the possible inclusion of an aged Robert Patrick being included, so that sounds like a solid idea that they’re running strongly with. Aside from that, it’s all new information, and whether it’s a legit idea for the sequel, or is McG is screwing with us hard, is really yet to be seen.

Click over for more, including McG’s words.
