One of the biggest blockbusters of the year is hitting home video pretty soon. Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Home Entertainment will release Avengers: Age of Ultron in both 2D and 3D Blu-ray editions on October 2, 2015.
You can check out a list of bonus features and a trailer for the Blu-ray here below.
Every time Saturday Night Live gets a guest host who plays regularly in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they just can’t resist getting in a dig or two at the superhero blockbuster factory via a well-produced and hilarious sketch.
In late 2012, they had on Jeremy Renner and the collaboration resulted in an Avengers spoof centered around the relative lameness of Hawkeye. Last September, Chris Pratt was more than happy to participate in one of the show’s Digital Shorts taking comedic aim at his recent star-making turn in the summer smash Guardians of the Galaxy. Most recently, Chris Hemsworth suited up as Thor for another Avengers sketch that portrayed the mighty God of Thunder as a glory-hogging party animal.
This weekend, Scarlett Johansson guest hosted Saturday Night Live to help promote the release of The Avengers: Age of Ultron, so naturally the show had to feature her in a Marvel-spoofing skit as her MCU character and Avenger extraordinaire Black Widow. True to SNL form, the sketch chose to stick it to Marvel Studios by showing how they would approach making a solo movie starring Johansson as the sultry superspy in the mock trailer for Black Widow: Age of Me.
Sometimes the underrated characters turn out to be the ones we remember the most. Maybe Jeremy Renner hasn’t had much to do in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far as the wisecracking ace archer Hawkeye, but early reviews of the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron have listed Renner’s performance and the greater attention paid to his character as one of the film’s better qualities.
Just to prove how cool he and the Hawk both really are, Renner paid a recent visit to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to sing a lovely song about the struggles he faces being the most unappreciated Avenger of them all, set to the tune of Ed Sheeran‘s “Thinking Out Loud.”
The Avengers assembled at Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and pretty much took over the show (of course). The stars were there right before they were to “walk across the street” to the The Avengers: Age of Ultron world premiere. Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), and Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) participated in The Avengers Family Feud, played telephone, talked to “Super Fans,” and answered some pertinent questions.

One thing Marvel Studios adores almost as much as reaping those massive box office returns and being the dominant blockbuster factory on the planet is handing some genuinely talented directors with zilch for proven track records the reins to their mega-budget tentpole properties. They also love consistency, so with Joss Whedon vacating the director’s chair on the studio’s epic, two-part Phase Three crossover event The Avengers: Infinity War, it looks as if the job has been officially secured by Anthony and Joe Russo.
