First Teaser For ‘The Daily Show’ With Trevor Noah
  |  @   |

Comedy Central has released the first teaser for The Daily Show with new host Trevor Noah. Previous host Jon Stewart recently departed the show after over 16 years at the desk.

The teaser is basically just a brief comical representation of this rather monumental changing of the guard, and a reminder of the date that the show returns to the air with Noah now running things.

You can check it out below.

Farewell, Jon Stewart: The Last ‘Daily Show’
  |  @   |

I grew up in Brooklyn, New York, in a family that ritualistically watched ABC’s World News Tonight with Peter Jennings. I loved history and journalism, and ended up teaching high school level history. The calming, straight forward, no nonsense, nonpartisan news days have long since passed. With the advent and expansion of cable news, and the big money filing in, it’s incredibly difficult to find real, genuine news. As channels like Fox News went over-the-top conservative, stations like MSNBC had to hit back equally to the left. 16 years ago a phoenix rose over the garbage heap of the phony “real” news and gave us the greatest fake news show ever. 16 years after taking over for Craig Kilborn, Jon Stewart left The Daily Show last night, in perfect circumstances… as the Republicans were holding their first Presidential debates on Fox News.

It’s being reported that Jon Stewart has announced that he will be retiring as host of The Daily Show, a job he’s been doing since 1999 when he took over for the departed Craig Kilborn.

‘The Minority Report With Larry Wilmore’ To Replace ‘The Colbert Report’
  |

The 11:30pm weeknight timeslot won’t be such a bad place to be even after The Colbert Report host Stephen Colbert ends his popular late-night Comedy Central satirical news program sometime next year (prior to its 10th anniversary) and takes over hosting CBS’ Late Show from the retiring David Letterman.

Launching early next year in Colbert’s old timeslot will be The Minority Report, hosted by Larry Wilmore. Wilmore, best known to loyal viewers of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart as the “Senior Black Correspondent” since 2006, has also written in the past for comedy series like In Living Color and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and co-created the Eddie Murphy-starring, clay-animated sitcom The PJs and The Bernie Mac Show (which he also produced) for the Fox Network. Over the course of his career in television, Wilmore has been nominated for three Emmys, winning one for Bernie Mac, and received the prestigious Peabody Award in 2001 for the same series. In 2009, Wilmore published his first book, I’d Rather We Got Casinos and Other Black Thoughts, and as an actor he has had small roles in I Love You, Man and Dinner for Schmucks.

Patrick Stewart As Dying Jade Rabbit Moon Rover On ‘The Daily Show’ (Video)
  |  @   |

China’s Jade Rabbit Moon Rover, the country’s first moon rover, made a “soft” landing on the Moon (the first since 1976) back in December, but last week, the space vehicle suffered a technical malfunction and isn’t expected to make it back to Earth.

Lest you think this 6-wheeled lunar rover is merely a piece of cold machinery, look no further than to social media, where Jade Rabbit has been sending messages about its lonely imminent lunar death, delivering a farewell to the inhabitants of Earth, leaving not one dry eye on the planet.

Jon Stewart joked about the situation on last night’s episode of The Daily Show, initially making light of the rover’s situation, but then Sir Patrick Stewart appeared as the Jade Rabbit sending its dying message from the Moon. As if just reading the rover’s statements weren’t sad enough, just wait until you hear it performed by Stewart. Check out the video here below.
