Jake Gyllenhaal To Produce and Star In Movie Based On Ubisoft’s ‘The Division’

We’ve already seen some of video game powerhouse Ubisoft’s titles set for movie adaptations with big name talent attached. Assassin’s Creed starring Michael Fassbender will be released on December 21st (watch the trailer here), and Tom Hardy has been attached to a project based on their Splinter Cell series.

Now comes word of a movie based on their latest hit, Tom Clancy’s The Division, and it looks like they’ve secured Academy Award nominee Jake Gyllenhaal to both star in and produce the film (just as Fassbender is with Assassin’s Creed).

‘Shaun Of The Dead’ Easter Egg Found In ‘The Division’ (Video)

Ubisoft released Tom Clancy’s The Division this week, and agents everywhere have been busy exploring the dark and devastated New York City after a holiday season virus has caused catastrophic damage to the country.

The game world is certainly not a warm and fuzzy happy place to hang out, but the developers made sure to add little things to lighten the mood here and there. Once such thing discovered recently is a nod to Edgar Wright’s 2004 zombie romantic comedy Shaun of the Dead, which starred Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, that anyone who has seen the movie will no doubt appreciate.

If you’re planning to play the game at some point it might be better to skip this and look for it yourself, but for anyone else you can see the Shaun of the Dead Easter Egg in the video below.

Launch Trailer For Tom Clancy’s ‘The Division’ Released By Ubisoft

In just one short week, Ubisoft will release Tom Clancy’s The Division, the much-anticipated online third-person shooter set in a ruined New York City after a virus that broke out during the holiday season has devastated the country and the government has collapsed.

In the game you’ll play as an agent in an organization called the Strategic Homeland Division, or simply The Division, tasked with restoring order by any means necessary when society falls and anarchy reigns.

Ahead of the game’s release, Ubisoft has just dropped the launch trailer for the game, and you can give it a watch below.

Details On Ubisoft’s ‘The Division’ Open Beta For Xbox One, PS4, and PC

It’s been a long road for Tom Clancy’s The Division, Ubisoft’s third-person open world online multiplayer, but it’s finally close to being released believe it or not.

A closed beta has been going on for the game, which has resulted in plenty of videos of gameplay footage to help those on the fence decide if they wanted to give it a try or not. But if that wasn’t enough to sway you, Ubisoft has decided to do an open beta where any and all who want to give it try will have the opportunity to do so.

The open beta will be for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, and you can find full details on when you can play below.

Tom Clancy’s ‘The Division’ Live Action Video Series “Agent Origins” Released

In Ubisoft’s much-hyped third-person online shooter Tom Clancy’s The Division players find themselves in a New York City destroyed by a virus that has caused society as we know it to collapse, taking on the role of an agent in the Strategic Homeland Division—a group of people specially trained for an emergency situation such as this tasked with doing whatever it takes to save the city before it’s too late.

A series of new live action shorts have been released looking at the stories of four of these agents. The series is titled “Agent Origins,” and you can read more and check out all of the videos below.
