Welcome, readers! Here you’ll find this week’s releases from Titan Comics! I’m still a huge fan of Heroes, so this week makes me extremely happy. Add in some Doctor Who and it’s a done deal! Check all the new titles out here below!
This week’s edition of The Digital Wire DVD and Blu-ray Releases is making up big time for last week’s stunning lack of noteworthy home video news announcements. We’ve got some critical favorites, horror cult classics, and a precious jewel of a film made by one of our finest directors that is finally getting the release it deserves. Just don’t blame me if you end up blowing your paycheck here.
Below you’ll find info on several future home video releases complete with technical specs, release dates, and links to pre-order at Amazon, as well as a list of titles coming out this week.
Those who have been waiting for a great trailer to talk about, your wait ends here. Paramount Pictures has just debuted the teaser trailer for Rupert Wyatt‘s The Gambler, starring Mark Wahlberg as a literature professor who moonlights as a high-rolling gambler. The film is actually a remake of the 1974 drama of the same name.
Now we’ve all seen remakes and films about gambling before, but this teaser really sets the bar pretty high with limited footage and choice words. And because we see so very little of the film in this trailer, which runs under two minutes, we get more compelling drama and more reasons to watch the trailer over and over again. But beware, the trailer doesn’t hold back on a certain four-letter word, so I suggest you put some headphones on or wait until you find some privacy to see it. Hit the jump to check it out.
Well, at least it looks like someone is working on this damn thing.
Best known for writing the script for Martin Scorsese‘s Oscar winner The Departed, writer William Monahan is working on a new draft for Robert Rodriguez‘s long-talked-about sequel, Sin City 2.
THR has the scoop, and this comes after Rodriguez revealed that the film may be shooting as early as later this year. Monahan is an immensely popular entity it appears, as it has also been announced that Monahan will be remaking the classic, The Gambler with none other than Scorsese himself.
