Watch Now: ‘Green Lantern: Emerald Knights’ Trailer
  |  @   |

Warner Home Video has released the trailer for their upcoming DC Universe original animated movie Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, which features the voice of Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan.

Watch the trailer here below. Above is a new image from the film.

As with Batman: Gotham Knights, the new Green Lantern feature will contain six interlocking stories. The stories, which were penned by some of today’s greatest comic book writers — Geoff Johns, Dave Gibbons, Peter J. Tomasi, Eddie Berganza, Alan Burnett, Todd Casey and Michael Green & Marc Guggenheim — center around the Green Lantern Corps and preparations for an attack on an ancient enemy.

Green Lantern: Emerald Knights will be released direct-to-DVD on June 7, just before the June 17 theatrical release of the Warner Bros. live-action film, Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds.

Krona To Appear In ‘Green Lantern’ Movie
  |

We learned at the Green Lantern panel at the San Diego Comic-Con last month that every Green Lantern Corps member would be shown on the planet Oa in Green Lantern. But what Oan citizens will show up in the upcoming Warners Bros big-screen adaptation?

According to Comic Book Movie, the character of Krona will make an appearance in Green Lantern, which stars Ryan Reynolds in the title role.

Krona will be involved in a scene that features another character from Green Lantern lore named Parallax (the panel also yielded the news that Parallax would be in the film). The scene is reportedly Earth-based, but what Krona’s involvement with Parallax is is unknown at this time.

Listen Now: Ryan Reynolds Recites Green Lantern Oath
  |  @   |

During the Warner Bros Green Lantern panel at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, the film’s star Ryan Reynolds finally publicly recited the Green Lantern oath.

During the Q&A portion of the panel, a cute little very young boy wearing a Green Lantern t-shirt came up to the microphone and asked Reynolds what it felt like to say the Green Lantern oath. In response, Reynolds said he’d show him what it was like and as the crowd fell silent, he recited the oath.

In brightest day, in blackest night
No evil shall escape my sight
Let those who worship evil’s might
Beware my power… Green Lantern’s light

We have it all on audio, so listen to it right here below.

Also, check out the newly released character posters from the film, as well as our extensive coverage of the Green Lantern SDCC 2010 panel, which includes a description of the footage that was shown.

First Look At Ryan Reynolds In Full ‘Green Lantern’ Attire
  |  @   |

One of the big non-Marvel comic book movies that’s currently on the way is of course Green Lantern. Today brings a little gift in the first peek of star Ryan Reynolds fully “dressed” up as the Lantern. I note the dressed because if you’ve not heard yet, the entire costume will actually be digitally added instead of actually producing a physical suit to wear.

It remains to be seen if this digital idea will be a disaster or not, but this first image will at least give you some sort of idea. The suit looks like a fully green take on a skinless human being’s muscle structure with the logo placed in its usual center position. The image does look like a heavy photoshop job and it will probably look a lot better once post production has reached completion, but for now it’s a solid peek for curious fans.

Continue on over to get your first look at Ryan Reynolds as the Green Lantern!

‘Green Lantern’ Official Synopsis Released
  |

Evening geeks,

Rumors have been circulating recently concerning the plot for the upcoming Green Lantern film starring Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan. Now, an updated and official synopsis for film has been released.

In a press release posted by Comic Book Movie, the official synopsis for the film provides some key plot points and directs to a villain that I don’t think any of us thought Warner Brothers would go for.

I think it’s safe to say that we all thought we’d basically see the origin story of Hal Jordan and maybe a similar plot line to that of Green Lantern: First Flight, but I think we’re getting an entirely different animal.

I’m a fan of Green Lantern, but as usual I try not to get excited about comic book movies, but after this news, I’m definitely looking forward to this film and all of its sequels.

Spoilers abound, so click the jump for all of the details.

For those that don’t want spoilers, Green Lantern is scheduled for release on June 17, 2011.
