E3 2014 was jam-packed with video game previews, as was expected, but one game not spotlighted much—at least not publicly—was Hideo Kojima‘s upcoming sequel Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. A new cinematic trailer for the game was released during E3, but the good stuff, the gameplay footage, was shown only behind closed doors.
Now, a week or so later, Kojima took part in a livestream in which the 30-minute gameplay demo shown at E3 was shared with the rest of the world. You can check it out below.
The Spike Video Game Awards this past December brought with it the trailer for a mysterious game titled The Phantom Pain.
There was plenty of speculation that the trailer was actually for Hideo Kojima‘s next game in the Metal Gear Solid franchise, with the many reasons pointed out in detail by places like the Official PlayStation Magazine, who even nailed where the letters fit in the title.
Now comes a new trailer for the game, which confirms what many have assumed all along: this is Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Check out the trailer below.
A strange cinematic trailer was shown at the 2012 Spike Video Game Awards for a game called The Phantom Pain. No one had ever heard of it, but it had a distinct Hideo Kojima feel to it, leading many to believe that the game is actually Metal Gear Solid V.
Back in September we saw a 14-minute gameplay demo for a game described as being a Metal Gear Solid V prologue titled Ground Zeroes, so it was assumed that MGSV was not too far behind.
Check out the trailer for The Phantom Pain below, and share whether you think it’s a new Metal Gear Solid or not.
