VHS Trailer For ‘Wet Hot American Summer’ On Netflix
  |  @   |

A new trailer has been released for the upcoming Wet Hot American Summer limited prequel series coming to Netflix later this summer, titled Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp. A teaser trailer was released back in January confirming the series’ gigantic cast.

The trailer is an advertisement for Camp Firewood, the fictional camp at which the movie and this series takes place. The movie, which is written by, directed by, and stars members of the MTV comedy group The State, takes place in 1981 and tells the story of the last day at camp, while this new series is a prequel taking place on the first day of that same summer camp season.

Because of the year the show is set in, this trailer ad for the camp is presented in the nostalgia-inducing style of an old VHS video tape. There’s something very strange about watching a VHS-style video in 1080p. You can check it out below.

Netflix’s ‘Wet Hot American Summer’ Cast Confirmation Trailer

Netflix has released a trailer for the upcoming Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, a limited series based on the 2001 comedy Wet Hot American Summer, which was made by the folks who brought us MTV’s sketch comedy show The State.

The show will run eight episodes, and reunites everyone involved with the original movie. The trailer is only a cast confirmation trailer, so it doesn’t show a whole lot, but it’s a nice tease that should get fans of the movie excited for the new show.

You can read a synopsis and watch the trailer for Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp here below.

MTV’s ‘The State’ Finally Heading To DVD!
  |  @   |

Fans of the show know it and its group very well, but others may not even know it exists. In any case, MTV‘s cult sketch comedy show, The State, will be finally coming to DVD on July 14, 2009. The set is expected to include five discs with every episode, as well as special features including: the pilot episode, outtakes, and over 90 minutes worth of un-aired sketches.

The show was known for its incredibly odd and random humor, which may or may not have cause an awkward feeling in the room once in a while, but always made you laugh hysterically. Some of their best work included things like Muppets, bearded men in space, and one messed up version of The Last Supper. I’m a big fan of the bearded men skit…classic.

After The State, many of its cast went on to shine. A bunch of them write and star as the main characters in Comedy Central’s Reno 911!; Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter, and David Wain went on to star in another sketch comedy show called Stella; Wain also wrote and directed the recent hit, Role Models; and most of the gang reunited to make one f’d up and hilarious little movie called The Ten.
