The brothers are back! It’s scary to think that it’s been more than 2 years since the end of season five of The Venture Bros., but yes it’s been that long. Sure we did get one hour-long special about this time last year, but that’s hardly enough for fans of the show. Fortunately, The Venture Bros. season six starts on Adult Swim on Sunday, January 31st at midnight, which means 8 weeks of the best damn show on TV.
The season starts off where “All This and Gargantua-2” left off, with Doc Venture having inherited his brothers’ business and a sweet new pad in New York City. Now the whole family is getting used to life in a new city as well as dealing with being fabulously rich. Meanwhile, Dr. Mrs. The Monarch is trying to rebuild the Guild of Calamitous Intent. There’s been quite a change to the old status quo, which I’m not sure is good or bad for new viewers.
It’s that most special time of year when we’re only a few days away from a new episode of my most favorite of television shows, The Venture Brothers. Coming on Monday, January 19, 2015 is a new hour-long special titled “All This and Gargauntua-2.” This will be the first new episode of The Venture Brothers since July 2013, which is far too long ago for my tastes.
“All This and Gargantua-2” features all your favorite VB characters and sends them to space, where Jonas Venture Jr. is launching his new space station. Nearly every major and minor character from the show is going to make an appearance on the special, and hopefully there won’t be as long a wait before more new episodes.
To pass the time till Monday, check out the trailer for “All This and Gargantua-2” and don’t forget to watch adult swim on January 19.
One of the announcements coming out this weekend from WonderCon 2014 in Anaheim, CA comes from Dark Horse, with word that they will finally be releasing The Art of Venture Bros. The good news is that the book has finally been confirmed for release, having been rumored to exist since 2013’s Comic-Con International: San Diego; The bad news is the book won’t be out until October 22, 2014.
As announced by Dark Horse Books, “This massive coffee table book includes original artwork, character designs, storyboards, painted backgrounds, and props from every episode of The Venture Bros. to date, with accompanying commentary on the development of the series from co-creators Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer!” The Art of The Venture Bros. will also have a forward by comedian and Venture Bros. guest voice actor Patton Oswalt.
Every day here at Doom HQ we receive tons of tips from our readers about really cool stuff from the world of geek, as well as promotional materials for new films, comic books, collectibles, and much more. While we do our best to bring you as much of it as possible, we don’t always have enough geek manpower available to cover it all on a daily basis. But we hate the idea of all of this really cool stuff wasting away in our inbox. How could we NOT cover it? Hence why we’ve resurrected our long-defunct column Bits Of Doom, now rebranded and revamped as Doom Digest, a collection of easily digestible bits of news, videos, photos, and other goodies.
Today: Disney‘s Orange Bird returns, gay Star Wars film, Marvel Iron Man & X-Men anime, Star Trek Sulu birthday cookies, Sara Pichelli’s Game Of Thrones art, plus some Bits Of Doom.
