‘The Scouting Book For Boys’ Director Tom Harper Helms ‘The Woman In Black: Angel Of Death’

The Woman in Black: Angel of Death is the sequel to the Daniel Radcliffe horror vehicle, The Woman in Black. While it is very unlikely that we will be seeing Radcliffe reprise his role in the sequel, the film is well on its way to production.

Now the sequel has just hired BAFTA nominated director Tom Harper (The Scouting Book For Boys) to direct the film.

Plot Details For ‘The Woman In Black: Angels Of Death’ Revealed

Two months ago we brought you the news that a sequel to the hit supernatural horror film The Woman in Black was in development at Hammer Films with the participation of Susan Hill, the author of the novel the movie was based upon. Jon Croker, a story editor on the first film, is penning the screenplay.

Plot details for the sequel, which will be titled The Woman in Black: Angels of Death, have also been released and can be red below.

Hammer Teaming with Author Susan Hill For ‘Woman In Black’ Sequel ‘Angels Of Death’

The atmospheric horror drama The Woman in Black, which featured Daniel Radcliffe in his first major post-Harry Potter leading role, opened in February to great success with critics and audiences. The film grossed over $53 million in the U.S. and a grand total of $120 million worldwide off a budget of $17 million, so it’s safe to say a sequel is assured.

Yesterday it was announced that Hammer, Alliance Films, and Cross Creek Pictures will be collaborating with Susan Hill, the author of the novel on which the movie was based, for a sequel to be titled The Woman in Black: Angels of Death. Jon Crocker (Desert Dancer) will write the screenplay from an original story by Hill. Roy Lee (The Departed) of Vertigo Entertainment will serve as an executive producer on the sequel.

Watch The Eerie Opening Scene From ‘The Woman in Black’

The Woman in Black, the latest horror effort from Hammer Films, opened in theaters this past weekend and marks star Daniel Radcliffe‘s first big screen project post-Harry Potter.

In the film, Radcliffe stars as lawyer Arthur Kips, who’s a widower raising his young son, but he’s also having trouble going on with his life and handling his cases after his wife’s death. Kips gets sent on assignment by his firm to a remote village that, unbeknownst to outsiders, is haunted by a very vengeful ghost – the Woman In Black.
