THQ Cancels Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘inSane’ Video Game Trilogy
  |  @   |

Remember that video game titled inSane being developed by Volition Studios along with the great Guillermo del Toro through THQ? Last we heard a year or so ago they had been developing it for about a year with still two to three more years to go, it was being built as a trilogy, and it was going to be a massive sandbox-style game with some truly terrifying beasties to encounter.

Well, as it turns out, THQ either wasn’t impressed enough with what they were seeing, or didn’t want to wait as long as they were waiting to get the game. It’s been announced that the company has canceled pre-production on inSane, effectively reverting the rights back to del Toro.

Game Review: Warhammer 40k: Space Marine
  |

Warhammer 40k: Space Marine
XBOX 360 | PS3 | PC
THQ Games
Release Date: September 6, 2011
Price: $49.99

A few weeks back I wrote this article when the demo of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine was released. Well, now that I’ve finally gotten myself waist-deep in the full version of the game, consider this to be the ‘Extended Edition’ of that article.

Everything I said before still stands true so I won’t waste our time here re-telling you how visceral the gaming experience felt to me then. I also won’t flood you with adjectives and verbs about how bad-ass it felt to slay millions of Orks using your ChainSword, Bolter Rilfe, and more.

It still does. It still is.

Guillermo del Toro Says New Game ‘inSANE’ Has H.P. Lovecraft Qualities
  |  @   |

Given that Universal Pictures recently denied us of another exciting Guillermo del Toro monster movie””the H.P. Lovecraft adaptation, At the Mountains of Madness“”it’s no great shock that the director has integrated a little Lovecraft inspiration into other projects of his.

For those who didn’t know, del Toro is a geek and a gamer at heart, and he’s been hard at work stepping into the realms of video games. He admittedly was clueless going in, but he’s learned a lot as production on the game he’s working on with THQ and Volition Inc., inSANE, has moved forward. And now del Toro shares that the game has a “Lovecraftian” quality to it, making it even more exciting than it once was.

Continue reading for more, and to see the super teaser trailer for inSANE you have not yet seen it.
