Quentin Tarantino’s ‘The Hateful Eight’ Gets A Christmas Release
The Weinstein Company has just announced that Quentin Tarantino‘s The Hateful Eight is set to open in limited 70mm release in theaters on Christmas Day. THR adds that the film will then make its wide digital release in theaters on January 8, 2016. More on the story below.
We’ve known that Tarantino has been hard at work retrofitting 50 theaters to be able have proper 70mm showings. This is very important, as it will give audiences a theatrical experience like no other.

70 mm films are a true rarity these days, and finding theaters that properly project in the format is even rarer. With many directors feeling at ease using digital, filmmakers like Christopher Nolan, J.J. Abrams, and Quentin Tarantino are fighting to save film.

Quentin Tarantino Finalizes ‘The Hateful Eight’ Cast; Adds Demian Bichir And Channing Tatum
We’ve known that Quentin Tarantino‘s upcoming project, The Hateful Eight, would be a return to the western genre. The film would of course see familiar faces in Tarantino films like Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Madson, Tim Roth, Bruce Dern, Kurt Russell, and Walton Goggins,, as well as some fresh faces like Jennifer Jason Leigh. Now there are confirmed reports that Channing Tatum and Demian Bichir (FX’s The Bridge) are also joining the cast.

Quentin Tarantino Shelves ‘The Hateful Eight’ After Script Leaks
After receiving some exciting news that Django Unchained director Quentin Tarantino was working on another western titled The Hateful Eight, the filmmaker announced that he is putting the project on the shelf because he is “very depressed” that his script leaked online.
While the The Hateful Eight may be shelved, Tarantino has the intention to turn the script into a novel, and is considering adapting to film it depending on the success of it. Surely something we did not want to see happen to such a promising film that would have starred Nebraska‘s Bruce Dern and Tarantino’s favorite actor Christoph Waltz.
