Back in June, we found out that Ubisoft’s hit video game series, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, was being made into a movie. Most people tend to shrug off video games being turned into movies, as they tend to be on the not-so-enjoyable side of the line. But now comes word of a fast-rising superstar joining the cast.

Tom Hardy, who played Bane in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy-maker, The Dark Knight Rises, and also starred in films such as Inception and Lawless, has signed on for a role in the Splinter Cell movie. The script will be written by Eric Warren Singer (The International).

Bidding on the rights to turn the hit Ubisoft video game series, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, into a movie has heated up.

It’s being reported that Paramount Pictures is having chats with Ubisoft about the property, and they are the current frontrunner to score the rights. Warner Brothers also appears to be interested if things don’t work out with Paramount.
