Knotfest 2015 Recap: Day 1
  |  @   |

On October 24th and 25, 2015, my 12-year-old son Jesse and I made our second annual pilgrimage to Slipknot’s giant, weekend-long heavy metal festival Knotfest. The event once again took place at San Manuel Amphitheater at Glen Helen Regional Park in San Bernardino, California. This is a recap of our experiences on Saturday, October 24.

Massive Metal Monday: Trivium “Down From The Sky”
  |  @   |

Metal giants Trivium are teasing something big right now on their website. Their homepage is whited out with an image of snow that can be temporarily “dug” away with mouse clicks before frosting over again, revealing a very badass looking skull. The title of the page also contains the word “snow.” Additionally there is a clock on the page counting down to 7:00AM Eastern time this Thursday morning. Many fans are speculating that it will be an announcement regarding the band’s seventh album, the highly anticipated follow up to 2013’s Vengeance Falls. Rumor has it that the record is to be titled Silence In The Snow.

Be sure to stay tuned right here at GoD for updates and in the meantime, enjoy one of Trivium’s classic anthems. This is “Down From the Sky” from the high watermark of the band’s career thus far, their awe-inspiring fourth album Shogun.

Singer/guitarist Matt Heafy formed Trivium while still in high school and landed a record deal shortly after graduation. The Orlando, Florida band have released six albums to date and continue to be progressively more successful with each release. They recently wrapped up a co-headline tour with Volbeat in support of their most recent record, 2013s Vengeance Falls.

From the band’s second album, 2004s Ascendancy, here is the official video for “Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr.”
