When Marvel decided to to rip the Ultimate Universe apart, they made the decision to send in Galactus to handle that business. The shockwaves, of course, rippled through all of the Ultimate Comics Universe, but the main story took place in Cataclysm: The Ultimates Last Stand. Now with that event series complete, Marvel has teased Survive, the next chapter in the retooling of the Ultimate Universe that follows the aftermath of the Cataclysm.
Survive #1 will begin the building of a new Ultimates team, it will reveal all of the heroes that died, and it will begin to reveal what will become of S.H.I.E.L.D. The book hits store shelves and digital apps on March 26, 2014, but is available for pre-order now. For now we have a preview of some of the art from the first issue of this new series – check it out here below.

The first major story arc in Ultimate Comics Ultimates is finally coming to an end, but the repercussions of the epic battle with the City still plague the Ultimate Comics Universe and the reunited team of Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor are left to pick up the pieces.
The creative team of writer Sam Humphries, and artist Billy Tan and Timothy Green II pick up the series with a bang starting with issue #14 hitting shelves and digital in August. Cover art for the issue is coming from Michael Kormack. The issue and next story arc will be a tie-in to the Ultimate Universe story Divided We Fall.

The Death of Spider-Man begins in the issues of Ultimate Comics Spider-Man and Ultimate Avengers vs. New Ultimates in February.
Marvel is really touting this story as a major game changer for the Ultimate Marvel Universe. Having Spider-Man dead will certainly cause some changes, but will we have this same old story as we’ve had so many times before when heroes die? You know the story: wannabe heroes come out of the woodwork to try and fill the shoes of the fallen hero often even taking his identity. If that’s what the fallout of Spidey’s death, well, that’ll just be boring.
At any rate Marvel has released an image of the variant cover art for issue 157 of Ultimate Comics Spider-Man set for release in April. This is the final issue of the story arc. This variant art was done by Ed McGuiness, who’s currently back on the Hulk series. Check out the cover art below and share your thoughts.
Marvel has sent us a bevy of exciting preview art from their upcoming Death of Spider-Man event set in the Ultimate Universe.
Marvel wants to make sure everyone understands this is an Ultimate book so there are no rules governing Spidey and what happens to him. Just because writers can do whatever they want doesn’t guarantee good, but it does promise different and that’s a start considering what’s happening in Amazing Spider-Man. The creative team behind this event is solid so there’s reason to give it a shot.
