In Kirby Genesis: Silver Star #6 there’s a LOT going on. Unfortunately, I didn’t like much of it, to be honest. While it was a good effort, I found myself SO lost in this comic, that I almost gave up reading it. But for you, dear readers, I stuck with it.

Writer Jai Nitz had me SO confused with this issue I don’t know where to start. This comic is ALL over the map, it seems there’s more than a handful of Silver Stars and a number of his villains (who are also all the same person), that I really had a problem knowing just who was who and who I should be routing for. There’s also a little girl, that I THINK turns into a love interest in the end, but I honestly don’t know. I’m afraid this comic falls victim to some VERY confusing storytelling. Another excellent issue of this classic character’s title. The Last Phantom #10 is truly a treat for anyone to read! You don’t have to be a long-time reader or fan of the series, in fact, with this issue you SHOULDN’T be!!

Writer Scott Beatty tells a very different tale of the Phantom in this issue, and unfortunately, for me to give anything more away would be spoiler territory. Safe to say, though, it’s one we’ve never seen before and it literally makes the series thus far. Included is great big action scenes, tons of human relation stories, and all around fun.

If you’ve never read The Last Phantom this is not the issue you should start with. That being said, this IS a pretty great issue. It’s got everything that a comic book should have””heroics, action, mystery, and most of all FUN!!!

Scott Beatty does a fantastic job of characterizing The Phantom as a serious hero, giving him a bit of a chip on his shoulder, but not making him boring or overly grim. He keeps a sense of humor when not being threatening to the villains of the story, which is a nice change of pace from most masked men with issues.
