If you feel like you’ve been singing “Blister in the Sun” forever, it’s because Violent Femmes released this debut album waaaay back in 1983 on vinyl and cassette and then again in 1987 on CD, adding two more songs. In 2002, Rhino remastered all the tracks, added a few more, and released a special 20th anniversary edition of the album. Though the band went on to record eight more albums, Violent Femmes remains their most commercially successful album to date. Violent Femmes called it quits for good in 2009.
