One of the original series being developer for Disney’s streaming service, called Disney+, will be titled The Vision and Scarlet Witch. And now that show has found someone to captain the ship.
It’s been announced that Jac Schaeffer has joined the project. She will handle showrunner and executive producer duties, and will also write at least the pilot episode.
Disney’s all new streaming platform hasn’t even launched yet and it is still making huge announcements. The service, which was tentatively titled Disney Play but will now go by Disney+, was formally announced by Disney CEO Bob Iger during a live audio webcast of Disney’s fiscal full year and fourth quarter 2018 financial results.
During the event he confirmed a second Star Wars series that will follow Cassian Andor, Diego Luna‘s character in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and a Loki series starring Tom Hiddleston. More on the report, below.
We’ve always known Star Wars and Marvel would be a big part of Disney’s streaming service, which will be called Disney Play. But it’s not just going to be a bunch of existing movies, there’s going to be original content as well. We know that multiple original Star Wars series are currently being developed, including one with Iron Man director Jon Favreau involved. We also know that these series will not be cheap to produce.
Now we’re starting to see what’s in the works on the Marvel side of things. It’s being reported that Disney is developing multiple Marvel series revolving around various characters such as Loki, Scarlet Witch, and other characters who haven’t received their own standalone movies.
