Sorry for the last minute post here, folks. I know I am not giving you a lot of time prior to the holidays to grab any of these treasures, but I only have the excuse of…well, nothing. I have been forgetful of late. Therefore, please accept my apologies and I hope you find something in this list for the D&D player(s) in your life.
Here’s the 2021 Holiday Gift Guide: Dungeons & Dragons Edition.
Dungeons & Dragons: Fizban’s Treasury Of Dragons Hardcover
Wizards Of The Coast
Release Date: October 26, 2021
As the end of the year approaches, I had a few expectations of new releases but little did I realize how much I would absolutely adore this newest release from Wizards Of The Coast. Dungeons & Dragons: Fizban’s Treasury Of Dragons is more than just a reference guide for dragons, it is actually a fair bit more than that, it expounds on information from a multitude of campaign settings, even binding them together into a single cohesive group. And while there are a myriad of differences between them, there are constants that hold true from one world to the next. Allow me to take you on a short tour of what to expect when we dive into a book that really brings out the dragons in Dungeons & Dragons!
Welcome first day of Fall 2021…. and with it come lots of new books!
Last year, aka Pandemic Year 1, while self-isolating and staying indoors as much as possible, I threw myself into reading … print books, magazines, ebooks, and audiobooks. So while it was a stressful year on a whole (for all of us), I really enjoyed being able to prioritize reading. This year, what’s become Pandemic Year 2, I wanted to get outside a bit, but also continue to be on the safe side, which meant road-tripping and hiking the great outdoors. Therefore, I’ve leaned more towards audiobooks.
Below are some titles — with accompanying links to the print, ebooks, and audiobooks editions — that I personally am looking forward to this Fall, presented here in order of release date, starting with those releasing in September 2021. After this main list, I’ve included some titles that came out earlier this year that you might have missed, as well as some themed Cookbooks, Crafts, and Guidebooks, along with an Audiobook Spotlight. And with the Fall comes, of course, Halloween and some spookier picks!

Dungeons & Dragons: The Wild Beyond The Witchlight Hardcover
Wizards Of The Coast
Release Date: September 21, 2021
Long time, no read, dear readers. I hope you have been handling this ever-present pandemic with stoic resolve and are doing your part to quash it as quickly as possible. I know not your feelings on the matter, but I personally am desperate to attend a convention or two in the near future. Now, having said that, Wizards Of The Coast has been kind enough to tease me with new material just in time for my favorite holiday, Halloween! And what goes better with a spooky holiday than a twisted adventure into a shadowy realm? Therefore, let me give you a bit of info about the new Dungeons & Dragons book, The Wild Beyond The Witchlight.
I have been a fan and participant in the dreadful misty lands of Ravenloft for over three decades and I can attest that in that time, adventures there have gotten both more terrifying as well as more exciting. As more and more additions are made to these miniature spots of shadow and dread, the supernatural planes become more tangible all the while still being ethereal in nature, such is the Plane of Shadows which, rumor has it, holds these horrible places. Take this book, Van Richten’s Guide To Ravenloft, for instance. It delves deeper into the Dark Powers that permeate these lands than anything ever has before. And although it holds a title that speaks to Strahd’s Ravenloft, there is so much more here. And better yet, information on how to not only explore these demi-planes, but also how to create your own. Read on brave adventurer, for the information and warnings you receive from Wizards Of The Coast might just save your life!
