WonderCon 2012 is underway this weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. A few of us here at Geeks of Doom hit the convention this weekend to report on the major movie panels — you can follow our coverage HERE — as well as check out the large array of creative cosplay.
Below is a gallery with photos taken of cosplayers at the Con on Saturday, March 17, 2012, which includes awesomeness such a female Joker, some ladies in TARDIS dresses, and a Chewbacca celebrating St. Patrick’s Day (which was Saturday), as well as an attendee with functional Deadmau5 headgear.
There’s also a video here below of the inventive Deadmau5 costume in action.
The Snow White and the Huntsman panel at WonderCon 2012 on Saturday began with E! movie personality Ben Lyons introducing director Rupert Sanders and actresses Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron.
Sanders began with an explanation as to how he managed to stay true to the original material of Snow White, saying he wanted to maintain the authenticity of the original while bringing it to a new and contemporary audience.
Stewart, who plays Snow White, when asked what portion of the film she was most proud of said that she was impressed with how delicately Sanders handled the entire process as a director.
The Prometheus panel at WonderCon 2012 today began as writer Damon Lindelof (Lost) came out and told a story about sneaking to his TV as a young kid to see Ridley Scott’s Alien for the first time on HBO, much to the annoyance of his father, and how it changed his life. He then introduced Prometheus director Sir Ridley Scott. Scott said the origin for Prometheus came from wanting to get back to directing serious science fiction again, and thinking there were unexplored germs of ideas in both Alien and Blade Runner to expand on.
Damon then introduced stars Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender. Theron and Fassbender were both called by Ridley and each given two hours to read the highly guarded script and asked if they’d want to join the production. Theron had to tell friends it was a romcom in order to hide the details of the script from curious friends.
