A&E Debuts Interactive Online Prequel To Stephen King ‘Bag of Bones’ Miniseries
  |

A&E is pulling out all the stops for the premiere of Bag of Bones, a two-part miniseries based on the bestselling novel by Stephen King, with the launch of an online narrative prequel to the story that will provide an interactive exploration into the characters and locales of the latest King tale to be adapted for television, once again by the ubiquitous Mick Garris.

In Dark Score Stories, the characters of Bag of Bones are featured in a series of seven photo-journalistic portraits and oral histories that will also provide visitors to the site with a detailed look at the story’s setting, Dark Score Lake.

Each vignette is accompanied by animated still photographs and audio interviews that will provide additional clues to the story and the secrets that surround Dark Score and its inhabitants. The photos were taken by Joachim Ladefoged, the award-winning Danish photojournalist whose work has been published in Time and The New York Times Magazine and the website is designed by Campfire, a marketing agency founded by the creators of The Blair Witch Project.

Bag of Bones stars Pierce Brosnan as an author who finds his life complicated by the arrival of dark supernatural forces, because this is based on a novel by Stephen King. Annabeth Gish, Melissa George, Anika Noni Rose, William Schallert, and Jason Priestley co-star. Matt Venne, who past credits include episodes of the Mick Garris-produced television series Masters of Horror and Fear Itself, wrote the teleplay. The miniseries will air on Sunday, December 11, 2011 and Monday, December 12, 2011.
