Trailer For Robert De Niro’s ‘Being Flynn’ Hits
  |

If there has been a weirder career than Robert De Niro‘s, this writer hasn’t seen it.

Starting his career off like gangbusters in classics like Taxi Driver, the past few years haven’t been so kind to the legend, but that appears as though it has begun to change.  We now have the trailer for his upcoming film, Being Flynn, and while it doesn’t look groundbreaking, it definitely looks like a fine film.

Originally titled Another Bullshit Night In Suck City, the film is based on the Nick Flynn memoir of the same name, and co-stars Paul Dano and Olivia Thirlby.  The trailer itself looks great, and that’s not even mentioning that it uses the great Fleet Foxes track “Helplessness Blues,” so with a release next Spring, this may be just what the career doctor ordered for its beloved star. Frankly, because if this film ultimately doesn’t work, particularly with Paul Weitz behind the camera, I don’t know what will.
