Fans of the Call of Duty series are used to jumping back and forth each year from Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare games to Treyarch’s bi-yearly title, which arrives this year in the form of Call of Duty: Black Ops II. And with Treyarch’s games, comes the added expectation of their addictive zombie mode.

We knew zombies would be coming into play at some point, but now comes the official reveal trailer for the Black Ops II zombie mode…and it looks like they’ve shaken things up, much the same as they’re trying to do with the primary campaign.

Previous zombie modes have had players taking on waves of the walking dead that get harder and harder to clear out. You can either take them on alone, or with some friends if you want to make it a tad easier. This time around, however, it looks like you’ll be making your way through some kind of mini-campaign, traveling from one location to the next as you fight off hordes of hungry corpses.

It’s a small change, but it could make all the difference in Treyarch’s mission to shake things up a bit and keep these games fresh and fun. Something fans of the games should appreciate.
