FearNet Grabs Rights To Canceled CW Series ‘Reaper’; Plans Reunion Special
  |  @   |

Of all the shows that the CW Network has produced, Reaper was among the best. In fact, some would even argue it was the only show they’ve ever aired worth watching. It’s also a show that was canceled far too soon, after only two seasons. And like many other similar shows, fans were outraged and fought to see it revived, but to no avail, sadly.

Little has been heard of the show since its cancellation, but it doesn’t appear to be dead yet. At least not entirely dead (it’s only MOSTLY dead). According to reports, FearNet has made their first off-network deal, licensing the show.

The deal sees FearNet acquiring the rights to all 31 episodes of Reaper‘s two-season run to air, and they also will produce a brand new reunion special for fans.

The reunion special will feature some of the show’s cast meeting up for a half-hour roundtable chat about the continued popularity of the show, its finale, and more. Expected to appear is Bret Harrison, Tyler Labine, Ray Wise, and others.

Of the news, FearNet VP of Programming and Network Operations Sarah Shannon said:

“Many Reaper viewers feel the show left too early, so we hope that they will enjoy our plans for the series and our Reaper reunion special.”

It’s not the revival fans wanted, but it is something new. And who knows what happens if the re-runs do surprisingly well.

Reaper will debut on FearNet on June 4th as part of the network’s Twisted Comedy Block at 9 p.m. on Tuesdays, and will be followed by the second season of original series Holliston.
