SDCC 2013: ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Original Sentinel Production Model
  |  @   |

While 20th Century Fox has a panel scheduled at San Diego Comic-Con this Saturday, the studio has yet to reveal what they’ll be promoting that day in the convention center’s main auditorium, Hall H. But if you’re in the area of the convention center near the Hard Rock Hotel, you’ll see that Fox has an exhibit set up outside that features some viral marketing for their upcoming X-Men sequel, X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The exhibit is a booth for Trask Industries, creator of The Sentinels, the massive robotic mutant hunters and deadly foes of the X-Men. On display was Bolivar Trask’s “crowning achievement,” the original Sentinel Mark I production model. Around the booth were propaganda posters decrying that mutants as the enemy and showing off the Sentinel army as the way to fight the “mutant threat.”

You can see photos of the Sentinel head, along with the posters as well as the Trask Industries flyer given out at the exhibit.

The flyer contained a link to the Trask Industries website, located at Trask-Industries.com, where you’ll see another view of the Sentinel head, with an invitation to join the company in celebrating 50 years of “human progress.” The flyer asks fans to show their support for the company by photographing themselves with the original Sentinel Mark I production model on display in San Diego, then tagging the photo through social media with #DOFP and #XMEN.

We got a tiny glimpse of the Sentinels in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand in the Danger Room, but it seems as though we’ll be seeing a lot more in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, which comes to theaters in 2D and 3D on May 23, 2014. Game Of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is strongly rumored to be playing Bolivar Trask in the film, and it’s expected that official confirmation will be given this weekend. [Update – Dinklage confirmed his role as Bolivar Trask at the X-Men: Days Of Future Past panel on Saturday.]
