Chris Pratt Addresses Those Indiana Jones Rumors (Video)
  |  @   |

Chris Pratt attended the Oscars ceremony in Hollywood, CA, last night where MTV’s Josh Horowitz spoke to the Guardians Of The Galaxy star on the Red Carpet about all those rumors about him being the next Indiana Jones. Last month, news broke that Disney was looking to reboot the Indiana Jones film franchise and wanted Pratt to take on the role as the titular adventurer. And just a few days ago, new reports surfaced that long-time Indiana Jones filmmaker Steven Spielberg is interested in directing Pratt in the reboot (Pratt is in his Jurassic World, coming to theaters this June).

So, what did Pratt have to say about all this Indiana Jones business? Well, unlike the other stars Horowitz grabbed a few minutes with on the Red Carpet, the actor didn’t shy away from the question.

Check out the short video interview here below.

Looks like it’s just a matter of an official offer being extended. Let’s fact it, Pratt would be a perfect choice to take up the Indy mantle and while, yes, he’d be under intense scrutiny from fans if he becomes the next Indiana Jones — the role made famous by Harrison Ford, starting with 1981’s Raiders Of The Lost Ark — he’d be insane to turn it down. But, he doesn’t seem to be worried too much about that.

Pratt was at the 2015 Academy Awards with his wife, actress Anna Faris, in support of James Gunn’s Guardians Of The Galaxy, in which he starred as Star-Lord. The Marvel superhero-scifi adventure film was nominated for two Oscars, for which it lost: Best Makeup and Hairstyling (lost to Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel) and Best Visual Effects (lost to Interstellar). Pratt also voiced the main character in The LEGO Movie, which was up for Best Original Song for “Everything Is Awesome” – it lost to Selma’s “Glory.” (The animated hit was famously snubbed for a nomination in the Best Animated Feature category.) Although “Everything Is Awesome” lost best song, its live performance by Tegan and Sara with Andy Samberg and The Lonely Island, as well as guest spots by Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh, The Roots’ Questlove, and Will Arnett as Batman (who he voiced in the film) was one of the night’s highlights. Pratt and Faris could be seen throughout the ceremony’s live broadcast seated up near the front not far from Oprah Winfrey, who was excitedly clutching a LEGO Oscar statue during the “Everything Is Awesome” performance.

  1. I’d prefer Bradley Cooper as Indy if they reboot/remake.
