Preview ‘Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!’ Trailer (Video)

When you think “summer blockbuster,” you probably think of some $200 million superhero movie. But this is a new era, and today’s movie fans are much more sophisticated… or not. Forget the theater altogether, this year’s biggest movie comes to the Syfy network, and will crush all ratings competitors in its jaws. Of course, I’m talking about Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!

Check out the new trailer below.

“They say the biggest blockbusters come in 3s!” The first monster fish-infused storm broke two years ago in 2013 in Los Angeles. Ian Ziering is Fin (get it) he must get to his ex-wife April (Tara Reid) so they can survive. The highlight was an epic scene where Fin is swallowed whole but chainsaws out of the shark’s gut. In the 2014 sequel “The Second One”, writer Thunder Levin and director Anthony Ferrante upped the ridiculousness as the Sharknado hit New York. Ziering returned with a bigger chainsaw this time and it was glorious. My favorite moment was when April found her recently bitten off hand (still with gun in grasp), and used to blow away an oncoming shark.

This time, the Sharknado hits Washington DC. The first family, a perfectly cast President Mark Cuban and Veep Ann Coulter will need Fin to save them. In the twenty second video you can see Cuban with Ziering walking confidently guns blazing. You have to admire a movie that’s tagline is perfectly fitting of what audiences will say, especially when a Great White lands in the Lincoln Memorial’s lap!

Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! debuts on SyFy on Wednesday night, July 22nd at 9:00pm ET. Like the other two films it is loaded with guests stars including Chris Jericho, Jerry Springer, Chris Kirkpatrick, Bo Derek, and of course, the man, the myth, the legend… David Hasselhoff, as Fin’s father. Summer cannot come soon enough.
