Universal Pictures has just released the first full trailer for the Steve Jobs biopic appropriately titled Steve Jobs. Based on the Walter Isaacson‘s best-selling biography of the Apple founder, the film is directed by Oscar wining director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours) and stars Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Shame) as the iconic inventor who redefined technology.

A teaser trailer was actually released about a month ago, but this newest trailer gives us a better look at the cast and the performances of the film. Check out the full trailer below.

Fassbender may have that Steve Jobs charisma, but I can understand why his accent may be a little off putting. This is also the first time we are getting to see Aaron Sorkin‘s script at play, and as you would expect, there are the screenwriter’s signature trademarks seen throughout the trailer. Though I like Boyle’s work, I, as well as many others, will be wondering what would have happened if David Fincher stayed on the project when it was over at Sony. Another interesting note is that the trailer is particularly interested in addressing Jobs’ family, despite the synopsis focusing on the launch of three of Apple’s iconic devices.

The film also stars Kate Winslet (Divergent, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) as Joanna Hoffman, former marketing chief of Macintosh. Steve Wozniak, who co-founded Apple, is played by Seth Rogen (Neighbors, The Interview). Jeff Daniels (The Newsroom, Looper) stars as former Apple CEO John Sculley. Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice, Michael Clayton) plays Chrisann Brennan, Jobs’ ex-girlfriend. Michael Stuhlbarg (A Serious Man, Seven Psychopaths) stars as Andy Hertzfeld, one of the original members of the Apple Macintosh development team.

Set backstage at three iconic product launches and ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac, Steve Jobs takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter.

Steve Jobs is directed by Academy Award® winner Danny Boyle and written by Academy Award® winner Aaron Sorkin, working from Walter Isaacson’s best-selling biography of the Apple founder. The producers are Mark Gordon, Guymon Casady of Film 360, Scott Rudin and Academy Award® winner Christian Colson.

Michael Fassbender plays Steve Jobs, the pioneering founder of Apple, with Academy Award®-winning actress Kate Winslet starring as Joanna Hoffman, former marketing chief of Macintosh.
