‘Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday’ Trailer: Joe Manganiello Tells Pee-Wee To Go Out Into The World
  |  @   |

It has been almost 30 years since Pee-wee Herman has graced the screen, but the adorable and lovable character with a big heart is set to make his return in an all new movie called Pee-wee’s Big Holiday.

The Netflix film will feature Paul Reubens reprising the iconic character who is inspired by Joe Manganiello who suggests that Pee-wee leaves his hometown and go on a holiday. Check out the trailer below.

While the story of a strange passer-by suggesting the lead character to go off on a spontaneous vacation and live a little isn’t anything new, the nostalgia factor and just how endearing Pee-wee is helps overlook some of those flaws. Anyone who is a fan will surely laugh at the well-earned jokes. The chemistry between the two certainly seems to be organic, as you can see when Pee-wee’s eyes light up when he admits that he’s never had done any of the things that Manganiello has done.

Things don’t go quite as planned when Pee-wee goes leaves Fairville to live a little. He comes across bank robbers, snake farmers, the Amish, and a couple of other characters along the way. Because this wouldn’t be a proper Pee-wee holiday if things just went swimmingly.

The film is directed by John Lee and written by Reubens and Paul Rust. Tara Buck, Alia Shawkat, Jessica Pohly, and Stephanie Beatriz also star.

Pee-wee’s Big Holiday makes its big screen debut at SXSW later next month, and will debut on Netflix on March 18, 2016, the same day as Daredevil season two.

Here’s the official synopsis:

The new film stars the beloved fun-loving hero of TV, stage and film, Pee-wee Herman.
