‘Moana’ Sing-Along Coming Soon To A Theater Near You
  |  @   |

Disney re-releasing current films as sing-alongs are quickly becoming a staple. Because it was such a hit with Frozen a few years back, the studio decided to bring it back again, this time for their current hit film Moana.

Find out more about it below.

The fun starts exclusively at the El Capitan on January 20, before expanding nationwide on January 27th, where “fans are invited to warm up those vocal cords and set sail with an all-new sing-along version of Moana launching in more than 2,000 theaters.”

The music and songs were written by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Broadway’s In The Heights, Hamilton), Mark Mancina (Tarzan, Broadway’s The Lion King), and Opetaia Foa’i (founder and lead singer of Te Vaka).

As with all sing-alongs, the film will feature on-screen lyrics for the audience to sing along to. This includes songs like “How Far I’ll Go,” “You’re Welcome,” and “Shiny.” Fans are encouraged to check local listings to find times.

In addition to being nominated for a BAFTA, PGA, and a few Golden Globes, the film has earned $450 million worldwide since it debuted back on November 23, 2016.

You can check out our coverage of the film right here.

In addition to the sing-along re-release, audiences can soon enjoy the original theatrical version of the film at home and packed with a variety of bonus extras when Moana arrives on Digital HD/3D and Disney Movies Anywhere (DMA) on Feb. 21, and on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, Digital SD, DVD, and On-Demand on March 7.

Moana is still out in theaters, so if you haven’t seen it yet, I suggest you do so now, then watch the sing-along version. It is directed by Disney vets Ron Clements and John Musker, and features the voice talents of Auli”˜i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson.

Here’s a brand new poster to help promote the sing-along.
