‘War For The Planet Of The Apes’ Trailer: There’s No Time For Peace On A Planet Run By Apes
  |  @   |

Every one of these Planet of the Apes prequels has lived up to its title. So it seems fitting that War for the Planet of the Apes be the apex of the series.

Fox has just dropped a new trailer for the film and it looks to abandon any and all hope of humans and apes living in peace. Instead, it’s going to be a battle to the death in which the surviving faction will emerge as the alpha species. Check out the full trailer below.

Early reactions have been very kind to the film, saying that it is an excellent follow-up to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. We’ve seen how Caesar (Andy Serkis) has progressed as the protagonist throughout the years. Having been constantly pitted against humans who believe that apes are the reason of humanities downfall, while also siding with them believing that there can be peace between the two, it was only a matter of time before one of them had to be declared a victor. And it doesn’t look like The Colonel (Woody Harrelson) wants to make peace, at all, making it that much more difficult to avoid war.

One has to imagine what is going through Caesar’s mind as he sees one of his own betray him at such a crucial time. It will be interesting to see how the events of the movie will affect the future of the franchise.

Steve Zahn, Judy Greer, Amiah Miller, Karin Konoval, Gabriel Chavarria, and Terry Notary also star.

Here’s the official synopsis:

In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.

War for the Planet of the Apes hits theaters on July 14, 2017.
