‘It’ Trailer: This Cursed Town Has Got A Serious Clown Problem
  |  @   |

Clowns are pretty much at the top of the list of things to be afraid of. Though they can bring laughter with slapstick comedy, but one can’t get over the fact that there is something truly terrifying about them as well. Which is why coulrophobia — the fear of clowns — has been popularized in pop culture. And we owe a great deal of thanks to Pennywise from Stephen King‘s novel It for manifesting those fears of clowns.

A brand new adaptation of It, from Mama director Andy Muschietti, is just a few more months away, and now WB has released a new trailer that brings back all those fears we thought we suppressed. Check it out here below.

The trailer reveals a little bit more of the plot, although if you are already familiar with the original Stephen King novel and the TV movie, then you have a sense of what’s going to appear in the film. In it, Pennywise (Bill SkarsgÃ¥rd) is believed to be behind some of the unexplained disappearances that have been going around Derry, Maine. Though some believe the town is cursed, The Losers Club set forth to find out if that is true now that one of their own has gone missing and they’ve seen mysterious signs that lead them to believe Pennywise is real.

Here’s the official plot synopsis:

New Line Cinema’s horror thriller “IT,” is based on the hugely popular Stephen King novel of the same name, which has been terrifying readers for decades.

When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.

The film also stars Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Olef, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Chosen Jacobs, and Sophia Lillis.

It opens in theaters on September 8, 2017.
