Details On Hulu’s Monthly Horror Anthology Series ‘Into The Dark’ Revealed
  |  @   |

Back in January we found out that Hulu was developing a different kind of horror anthology series, with new episodes being released monthly instead of weekly to ensure a year of content to look forward to for those who become fans. At the time it didn’t even have a title, but now we know it will be called Into the Dark.

In addition to the title, lots more information on the series was also shared by Hulu recently. This includes info on some cast members, titles and descriptions of the first couple of episode, release dates, and more.

Continue reading for all of the details.

One big question when we first heard about Into the Dark was whether it was just going to run for one year and then take a break, or if it was going to immediately begin the second year one month after the 12th episode airs. It now sounds like this will indeed be a year-round thing.

Even more exciting, each episode will be holiday themed, at least for the first year. So the first episode, which premieres in October, will be set during Halloween. And these aren’t skimpy episodes, either. Each episode is said to be around feature film length, similar to a show like Sherlock.

The first episode of Into the Dark will be titled “The Body,” and it’s based on the short film of the same name directed by Paul Davis, who, along with Paul Fisher, also co-wrote the screenplay for the episode.

Here’s a description of the episode:

“The Body” follows a sophisticated, overconfident hitman who always carries out his work in style. He decides to take things even further one day by transporting his latest victim in plain sight, correctly assuming that self-absorbed LA partiers will simply be enamored with his elaborate “costume.” Eventually, as his window of opportunity to dispose of the body begins to close, Wilkes’ true colors reveal themselves to some groupies that have latched on to him. It becomes a battle of will and wits.

The debut episode stars Tom Bateman (Murder on the Orient Express, Da Vinci’s Demons), Rebecca Rittenhouse (Don’t Worry He Won’t Get Far on Foot, The Mindy Project), Aurora Perrineau (Truth or Dare, Jem and the Holograms), David Hull (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Insecure), and Ray Santiago (Ash vs Evil Dead, In Time).

The second episode will be titled “Flesh & Blood,” and it will star Dermot Mulroney, someone who’s no stranger to horror TV series having starred in American Horror Story. In it he’ll play a man trying to help his teenage daughter, who suffers from agoraphobia and hasn’t left the house since the murder of her mother, a murder that has not yet been solved.

Those first two episodes are all we have information on for now. New episodes of Into the Dark will be released on the first Friday of each month, with the debut episode, “The Body,” arriving on October 5th. “Flesh & Blood” will follow on November 2nd.
