A24 has released a teaser trailer for Midsommar, the latest from Hereditary writer and director Ari Aster which is described as a “Scandinavian folk horror.”

The movie stars Florence Pugh and Jack Reynor, with William Jackson Harper, Vilhelm Blomgran, Archie Madekwe, Ellora Torchia, and Will Poulter joining them on the cast.

Unfortunately no synopsis for the movie has been shared yet, but the film’s Wiki page offers this premise:

A couple travels to Sweden to visit their friend’s rural hometown for its fabled mid-summer festival. What begins as an idyllic retreat quickly devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult.

Midsommar is set to be released on August 9th.
