‘Jurassic Park’ Returning To Theaters For 25th Anniversary
  |  @   |

Steven Spielberg‘s seminal classic Jurassic Park is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and if you look at the box office, dinosaurs have never been bigger. In 2015, Jurassic World returned fans to the island of Isla Nublar and raked in $1.6 billion worldwide. Currently, its sequel, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, sits third on the 2018 worldwide box office charts with a whopping $1.2 billion. While it pained me how much I disliked Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, no one can deny that dinosaurs are still a big money attraction. And while the sequels may suffer from the law of diminishing returns, the original holds up as royalty. Now, thanks to Fathom Events, fans of the original can see it in theaters this September.

‘Jurassic World’ Museum Exhibition Debuts In U.S.
  |  @   |

When I was a kid, I remember going to the Museum of Science in Boston for a new dinosaur exhibition right around the time Jurassic Park was released. It was amazing. Even got myself a Jurassic Jawbreaker, which is really just one of those giant Jawbreakers. Lasted me months.

Last year the fourth movie in the Jurassic Park franchise, Jurassic World, stormed into theaters and did huge numbers. A museum exhibition was created around the movie, and has already had a run in Australia. Now the exhibition has made its way here to the States, debuting at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia.

You can read the full press release with all the details below. If you’re like me and can’t make it to Philly, you can also find a great peek at what some of the exhibits look like from its run in Australia. Let’s just say, they can do way cooler stuff with animatronics now than they could back in the ’90s.

‘Jurassic World 2’ Said To Be “More Suspenseful and Scary”
  |  @   |

Sequels always up the ante in terms of story and visuals. So after the success of Jurassic World, it is safe to say that will happen tenfold in the sequel. While the rumor that the production budget for Jurassic World 2 ballooned up to $260 million was nothing more than hearsay, the film is expected to begin filming early next year. Although Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow won’t be there for the sequel, he will still be very much involved in guiding The Orphanage and The Impossible filmmaker J.A. Bayona as he takes his place directing the fifth installment of Universal’s Jurassic franchise. Now, Jurassic World writer Derek Connolly is dropping a few hints about what to expect in the sequel. Check out the story below.

‘Jurassic World 2’ Could Have A $260 Million Production Budget According To Director
  |  @   |

Last week, A Monster Calls director J.A. Bayona confirmed that Jurassic World will become a trilogy and that Colin Trevorrow would still be very much a part of the creative process despite his obligations to other projects. Now, as far as sequels go, the film is going to get bigger. That’s not at all surprising. The first Jurassic World cost up to $150 million, and that’s not accounting for the marketing costs. Remember all those shameless production placements thrown into the actual film, like “Verizon Wireless Presents The Indominus Rex” or “Magaritaville?”

While the production budget is expected to go up, a new report says it’s expected to go way up. According to Bayona, the budget for the Jurassic World sequel would be $260 million, which would be a $110 million increase from the previous film. Check out the full story below.
