Paramount showed their latest blockbuster slate at San Diego Comic-Con today. While their time was reserved for Terminator: Dark Fate – and we will have much more on that later – Tom Cruise made a very surprising appearance to show the first trailer for Top Gun: Maverick. Check it out below.
A couple of years back we found out that Bronson, Valhalla Rising, Drive, Only God Forgives, The Neon Demon, and Pusher trilogy director Nicolas Winding Refn and six-time Eisner Award-winning comic book writer Ed Brubaker had a TV series titled Too Old to Die Young coming to Amazon’s Prime Video.
Now the first trailer has been released for the series, which is a crime thriller dealing with the criminal underbelly of Los Angeles. It explores “various characters’ existential journeys from being killers to becoming samurais in the city of angels.”
You can find more info on Too Old to Die Young and check out the first trailer below.
The cast of Top Gun 2, officially titled Top Gun: Maverick, has added Jon Hamm and Ed Harris. But they won’t be alone.
The veteran actors will be accompanied by some new faces, some of whom are new to the game. Thomasin McKenzie (Jojo Rabbit), Charles Parnell (A Million Little Pieces), Jay Ellis (Insecure), Bashir Salahuddin (GLOW), Danny Ramirez (Assassination Nation), and Monica Barbaro (The Good Cop), are also joining the cast in a variety of roles. More on the story below.
Original Top Gun stars Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer are returning for Top Gun 2, but now a newcomer is joining the cast.
It’s being reported that Whiplash star Miles Teller has signed on for the sequel, which is officially titled Top Gun: Maverick. But while he wasn’t in the original—in fact, he hadn’t even been born when the original was released—he is playing a character very much tied to the original. Teller will be playing the protege of Cruise’s Maverick, and the son of Maverick’s co-pilot in the original, Goose, who was played by Anthony Edwards.
A new trailer has been released for War Dogs, a dramedy starring two-time Academy Award nominee Jonah Hill (The Wolf of Wall Street, Moneyball), Miles Teller (Whiplash, The Spectacular Now), four-time Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper (Silver Linings Playlist, American Hustle, American Sniper), and Ana de Armas (Knock Knock, Blade Runner 2).
The movie comes from Todd Phillips, who’s best known for his comedies like Road Trip, Old School, and The Hangover and its sequels, and follows two friends in their 20s who become extremely successful in the world of arms dealing but eventually find themselves in way over their heads.
