The end of Hollow City, the 2nd book, left our peculiar children (well teenagers), Jacob and Emma, on the brink of death. Jacob, in particular, had a hollow tentacle wrapped around his neck. A calm soon surrounded him and he was able to say a command in hollow-tongue, which was immediately obeyed. The moment Jacob realizes that his gift is not just to sense or see hollows, but to control them, is where Library of Souls: The Third Novel of Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs begins.
We are getting closer and closer to seeing Ransom Riggs’ fantastical world burst onto the big screen with Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children on September 30th. Asa Butterfield stars as Jake, the boy who tries to help the Peculiar children, after traveling to their home in the past, based on a mystery from his grandfather. Jake also discovers his own unique and useful ability – which might be the most important of all in the battles to come.
One of the most anticipated page-to-screen film swoops in September. Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children, the first in a trilogy (so far) by Ransom Riggs, is readying to fascinate and freak out children and adults alike. Directed appropriately by Tim Burton (it’s like Riggs wrote this just for him), the film stars Eva Green as Miss Peregrine, Asa Butterfield as Jacob, and Samuel Jackson as a new character, Barron, the Peculiars will arrive this Fall.
