Kristen Wiig In Talks To Join ‘Wonder Woman 2’ As The Villain Cheetah
  |  @   |

The DCEU may be in complete disarray, but the films that are currently in development leave us with a slight bit of hope that it could work out for the superhero universe. But since this is the DCEU, chances are it’s going to force the studio to look back at the drawing board. Unless you are the highly successful Wonder Woman. Since the film has achieved critical and commercial success, the studio has now focused their efforts on getting a Wonder Woman 2 off the ground.

Though it is still in the early stages of development, the film is beginning to start casting its new characters. You know, since it is rumored to take place in the ’80s and it’s not likely that anyone from the first film, aside from the title character, has survived. And it looks like they have just cast one of their new villains. According to new reports, Kristen Wiig is currently in talks to play Cheetah. More on the story below.

She will also be co-writing the script with Geoff Johns.

Now the two will be joined by an “Expendable” writer. But it’s not that kind of expendable. New reports confirm that The Expendables co-writer Dave Callaham will be joining the team. More on the story below.

Patty Jenkins Responds To James Cameron’s Short-Sighted ‘Wonder Woman’ Comments
  |  @   |

Wonder Woman has been hailed as one of the best superhero films ever. As one of the first female superhero films, it also set the standard and raise the bar on the genre. The movie was not dreary or dark, but rather, full of hope and optimism. Above all, it never objectified the title character, who through stunning grace and power lifted the film that became an inspiration to many, particularly females.

But Wonder Woman isn’t without its criticisms. Sure, the third act may have been a little lackluster and the villain a tad bit generic, but overall, it was very entertaining. But I cannot stress how important this film is to usher in female superheroes and how that is important for girls. They can just be as strong, if not stronger, than the guys. Problem is, a few people don’t share those same views. One notable person who doesn’t believe that Wonder Woman is as great as many are making her out to be is Avatar director James Cameron, who claims that the character is “an objectified icon” and it’s a “step backwards.” So let us get into why he is wrong about that…

Zack Snyder’s Creative Influence In DCEU To Be Significantly Reduced
  |  @   |

Zack Snyder and his wife, producer Deborah Snyder, have been a part of the DCEU creative force since the very beginning. In fact, Zack Snyder has been a major presence having directed Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League, some of Suicide Squad, and was an executive producer and/or writer for Wonder Woman and Aquaman. But it appears that the filmmaker’s creative input could be minimized significantly as the DCEU moves forward.

According to new reports, the Snyders “will no longer have anything like the level of creative influence that got the franchise to this point.” More on the story below.
