Walton Goggins Joins ‘G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation’
  |

While his stock is very much rising, particularly after his stint on various TV shows and bit parts in huge films (I’m thinking Predators and Cowboys & Aliens), Walton Goggins has yet to nab a meaty role for himself. That may have just changed.

Goggins has joined the cast of the upcoming film, G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation, and will play Warden Nigel James. Information surrounding James is light, as it appears as though he’s not an immensely popular character, but it should prove to be quite an interesting turn for the actor.

Goggins joins Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson, RZA, DJ Cotrona, Elodie Yung, Lee Byung-Hun, Channing Tatum, and Ray Park, in what sounds like what should be a really entertaining action flick. I didn’t mind the original film too much, but ultimately found it to be beyond forgettable. However, hopes for this one are immensely high, as it really does seem like it will be a rewarding actioner. Here’s to hoping.

What do you think?
