Warner Brothers Unveils First ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Teaser Poster
  |

A loner dressed in dusty black leather, his rusted hulk of a badass automotive war machine, and the assembled forces of wasteland evil looming in the distance…what more could you possibly require of a first poster for next year’s Mad Max: Fury Road?

The fourth film in Australian filmmaker George Miller‘s imaginative, highly influential post-apocalyptic action franchise has been in the works since the days when original star Mel Gibson was still a viable screen leading man without a hint of scandal about him. Now that British star-on-the-rise Tom Hardy has replaced Gibson in the iconic role of monosyllabic wanderer Max Rockatansky, Fury Road is finally rolling at full speed and looks to have a huge presence at this weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con. Ahead of the Con Warner Brothers has released the first poster for Fury Road, which shows little but promises much.

You can check the poster out here below.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Mad Max saga and aren’t enticed to seeing the latest installment then perhaps this official synopsis for Fury Road might help:

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD is the fourth film of George Miller”˜s Road Warrior/Mad Max franchise co-written and directed by Miller. The post-apocalyptic action film is set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and most everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life.

Within this world of fire and blood exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order”¦ There’s Max (played by TOM HARDY from The Dark Knight Rises), a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos.

And”¦ Furiosa (played by CHARLIZE THERON from Prometheus), a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.

Sold yet? If not then I just don’t know what to do with you because this flick had my money a long time ago. Mad Max: Fury Road co-stars Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Nicholas Hoult, Zoe Kravitz, and Riley Keough. Hugh Keays-Byrne, who played the sinister Toecutter in the first Mad Max, returns as Max’s newest adversary Immortan Joe. The movie opens on May 15, 2015.
