‘Zootopia’ Trailer: Even Animals Hate Waiting At The DMV
  |  @   |

Disney has released a new trailer for the upcoming film Zootopia from directors Bryon Howard (Bolt, Tangled) and Rich Moore (Wreck-It Ralph). The film is a play on the buddy cop genre that pits two mismatched characters together. So Disney took a spin on that, and paired a con artist fox named Nick Wilde and a rookie cop rabbit named Judy Hopps together. Normally these two would be predator and prey, but as you can see, Disney really wanted to have some fun with it. And like most buddy cop genre films, our characters have a very limited amount of time to solve a crime before either one of them suffers some sort of consequence whether its them losing their job or going to jail.

You may think the whole talking animal animated movies are played out, but believe me, Zootopia looks funny. And so far it hasn’t been disappointing, so give it a chance.

While Disney calls this a trailer, it is really a clip, and one that you might have seen if you have attended D23. Check it out below.

Yes, the infamous DMV scene that has everybody laughing. The first few seconds of the trailer really sets up the tempo and established who Judy Hopps is in the film, which is a very eager and upbeat cop who will do anything to get the job done. And as the drums beating builds for what we think is that one exciting trailer moment, it quickly transitions to the DMV scene, which isn’t all that bad once you get to see it.

In fact it is still hilarious to watch. I won’t go into great detail to explain it since that would just ruin it all. But let’s just say Disney, like everyone else, thinks the DMV runs at a sloth’s pace.

Jason Bateman and Ginnifer Goodwin are the lead voices in the movie, which also features the voice talents of Idris Elba, Alan Tudyk, J.K. Simmons, Jenny Slate, Bonnie Hunt, and Octavia Spencer.

Zootopia opens on March 4, 2016.

Here’s the official synopsis:

The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together””a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when optimistic Officer Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman), to solve the mystery.
