I was initially apprehensive about creating a “best of” movie list for 2014, because upon review, it was easier to make a list of all the critically acclaimed movies I didn’t get a chance to see than did. In fact, here’s that list now: Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Only Lovers Left Alive, Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), Whiplash, Selma, Ida, Goodbye to Language, The Babadook, and Inherent Vice.
So with the caveat that the best films of the year (and possibly your favorites) may still yet to be seen by me, here is a list of the best films I did see this past year.

Seth MacFarlane (Ted, Family Guy) directs, produces, co-writes, and stars as cowardly sheep farmer Albert Stark in A Million Ways to Die in the West. After Albert backs out of a gunfight, his fickle girlfriend Louise (Amanda Seyfried) leaves him for another man (Neil Patrick Harris).
When the mysterious and beautiful Anna (Charlize Theron) rides into town, she helps Albert find his courage and they – of course – fall deeply in love amidst all the dick jokes. But when her husband, a notorious outlaw named Clinch (Liam Neeson), arrives seeking retribution, the farmer must put his newfound gunfighting skills to the test.
Family Guy and American Dad! creator Seth MacFarlane‘s sophomore effort as a director, A Million Ways to Die in the West (which he also stars in and co-wrote), already has a green band trailer. But if you’re looking for more of a naughty preview of the movie, a new red band trailer has now made its way online.
The movie also stars Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried, Sarah Silverman, Giovanni Ribisi, and Neil Patrick Harris.
You check out the red band trailer below, and of course, the NSFW warning is in effect.
Seth MacFarlane‘s Ted was basically a raunchy live-action version of Family Guy, and his sophomore directorial effort, A Million Ways to Die In The West, is more or less the same thing but set in the Wild West — not that there’s anything wrong with that since Ted proved to be a bonafide hit at the box office.
The first set of posters was revealed this week, and now Universal has released the first trailer from the film. Hit the jump to see it.
Recently we saw the first official image from Seth MacFarlane‘s upcoming live-action comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West, and it’s safe to assume that a trailer for the May 30th release should be arriving very soon. But for now, a set of seven new character posters have been released to remind you how awesome the cast is.
Starring in the movie is MacFarlane (his first time physically appearing in the lead role), Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried, Sarah Silverman, Giovanni Ribisi, and Neil Patrick Harris.
You can check out the character posters for these actors below, as well as a bonus title poster.
