Man, oh man, do I have a treat for you today. Boom! Studios has given us an exclusive sneak peek of the cover for Fanboys vs. Zombies #16, and being the gracious guy that I am, I’m going to let you see it!
Here at Geeks Of Doom, we have been given other opportunities to show off previous covers and you can see issue 9 here and issue 10 here. But when I saw this one, all I could think was THUNDERCATS, HO! This cover is by Jerry Gaylord (he also does the art in this issue, too).
Be sure to continue below to see the cover for Fanboys vs. Zombies #16!
Our sleeper agent at the BOOM! Studios dream factory smuggled out a trifecta of covers for another upcoming issue of Fanboys VS Zombies. Fanboys VS Zombies #10, which will be hitting newsstands in January 2013, features cover artwork by Jerry Gaylord and Dominike “Domo” Stanton. Previous FvZ covers have paid homage to geeky cultural mainstays like The A-Team, Escape From New York, Scott Pilgrim, and Back to the Future.
Check out the solicit info and the covers for issue #10 after the jump.
We’ve got some exclusive covers here for you today, courtesy of BOOM! Studios. Check out three covers for BOOM!’s Fanboys VS Zombies #9, which is out in December 2012. Jerry Gaylord‘s cover is a take on Back To The Future; the other cover and its variant by Dominike Stanton give a nod to Escape From New York.
Issue #9 is a great jumping-on point as Shane Houghton (Reed Gunther) takes over writing duties on the series. What happens when the Wrecking Crew moves on to their next challenge fighting the Ghosts of Comic-Cons past? Find out as Fanboys VS Zombies launches into a new arc.
If you’re interested in this series and want to start at the beginning, back issues are still available and you can pre-order up through issue #8.

A few years ago, a circle of five friends attend Comic-Con International: San Diego, nickname themselves ‘The Wrecking Crew 4 Lyfe,’ and vow to return every year together. Flash forward to today, they’ve all come to the Con but jealousy and competitiveness have torn them into factions. All of a sudden, folks that thought they were suffering from Con-rot, that feeling of weariness and nausea most of us have when we’ve spent way to much time on the floor of a Con, have become flesh-eating zombies.
By the time we get to Fanboys vs. Zombies #2 the Wrecking Crew 4 Lyfe are among the few survivors left at Comic-Con. Now one of our heroes, Rob, is fixated solely on rescuing a celebrity crush. On top of that, the convention center has been rigged as a disaster relief center, built to withstand bombs and hurricanes, trapping them inside. And worst of all, they’re facing off against a horde of zombie D&D Cosplayers.
