The fifth MondoCon has come to a close, and some of those weren’t able to attend the event in Austin, Texas, are anxious to get their hands on those highly sought-after pieces. While some pieces sell out quickly, even in an instant, there are times where fans have the opportunity to get them thanks to a timed release. Now the art company has given those who missed the event the chance to get a coveted piece. It was recently revealed that a new print of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse by Martin Ansin will be given a timed-release. Read on for details on out how you can get it.
Once in a blue moon, Mondo has this ingenious idea of making their exclusive posters available for everyone. As you can imagine, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for any fan of their artwork, who doesn’t have the time, isn’t around a computer at the time of release, or has a slow internet connection, as the ability to purchase one of them. Sure they may not be as exclusive as their original releases, but they are still fine pieces of artwork to hang on your wall. Last year, Mondo released Olly Moss‘ minimalist poster for The Dark Knight Rises for an entire day; now they will do it again for Man of Steel.
Martin Ansin‘s piece will be a part of that release. His piece will go on sale for an entire 72 hours, and will be available for purchase Thursday night at midnight, ample time for anyone who wants one of them. There is also another piece by Ken Taylor, seen in the header image above. His piece will not be a part of that day in a half release; instead, it will be released as any other Mondo poster would. Both pieces will have variant versions. Hit the jump for specs for each poster.
One-of-a-kind art prints from creative artists like Olly Moss and Tyler Stout are really hard to come by, especially when they are put up for sale on Mondo and only 200-300 prints are available for one time only. So if you aren’t in the mood to get those IMAX freebies for the midnight screenings of Iron Man 3 in IMAX, then maybe you would be interested in the posters from Martin Ansin and Phantom City Creative. Hit the jump to see the full preview.
Like all the Mondo posters that came before these, these three, which go on sale on the official Mondo website on a random time on Friday, will never be reprinted. So you only have one chance go get these one-of-a-kind posters, so stay near a computer with some incredible internet speed at all times.
Almost every movie poster aficionado knows that Mondo is the definitive source for original and one-of-a-kind art pieces. Many have had the good fortune of purchasing these pieces to hang on their walls, and those lucky enough to live in Austin, Texas have been treated to free posters at the Alamo Drafthouse. They also honor their artists by holding art galleries. So to commemorate the most terrifying season for film, Mondo is holding a very special Horror-themed art gallery.
Artists like Laurent Durieux, Francesco Francavila, and Ken Taylor will be on hand to provide some of their interpretations of the iconic Universal Horror monsters. Check out all the specs and pricing here below, along with images of some of the posters.
Mondo Posters are an impressive display of artwork and they pay homage to the subject. Although they have been drawn up for movies, Mondo has teamed up with HBO to create new posters for the hit TV series Game of Thrones.
Just like last year, Mondo will be having their very own booth at Comic-Con (for those who are mapping out and planning their weekend geek fest in San Diego it will be booth #437), and just like last year, they will be releasing past posters at an unannounced time. So of course you will have to follow @MondoNews on Twitter to find out all the exact times and posters you want to get your hands on if you didn’t already the first time.
